Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-11-02

This policy explains how the PetBuddy Android app (package com.tinipet.app), published by PetBuddy, handles information. It applies to the current version of the app (1.0, “MVP1”).

Summary: PetBuddy does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. Everything you enter stays on your device. The app does not request internet access, has no account, no ads and no analytics.

1. Information you enter

You may enter information about your pets: name, species, colours, birth date, sex, neutered status, microchip number, health records (vaccines, deworming, medicine, vet visits, weight, notes) and an optional photo chosen with the Android photo picker. The app also stores your settings, game scores, coins, items and eggs.

All of this is stored only in the app's private storage on your device. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. We cannot see it.

2. Information we collect

None. PetBuddy contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking SDK in this version and does not hold the Android INTERNET permission, so it cannot send data over the network.

3. Photos

When you choose a photo for your pet or the wallpaper, Android's photo picker gives the app access to that one photo only. The app copies it into its private storage. It does not access your gallery and does not use the camera.

4. Permissions

PermissionWhy
Display over other apps (optional)Only for “pet on your screen”, when you turn it on.
Run at startupBrings the on-screen pet back after a restart, only if you left it on.
VibrateGentle haptic feedback, which you can turn off in Settings.
View network connections, keep awake, foreground serviceDeclared by Android's WorkManager library, which runs small on-device tasks such as refreshing the widget. The app makes no network requests.

Optional mini-games are delivered by Google Play when you open them (Play Feature Delivery); that download is handled by the Google Play Store under Google's privacy policy.

5. Backups and export

If you enabled Android backup, Android may include the app's pet database in your device backup, which is managed by Google and protected by your Google account. You can also export your data to a JSON file (Settings › Privacy). Exported files are under your control.

6. Retention and deletion

Data stays until you delete it. Delete a health record in the app, clear the app's storage in Android Settings, or uninstall the app to remove everything. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing for us to delete on our side; if you have questions, contact us.

7. Children

PetBuddy is a general-audience app made for pet owners and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

8. Advertising and future versions

This version shows no ads and offers no purchases. Future versions may add optional features such as signing in with Google to sync your pets and friends, in-app purchases through Google Play, or ads served by Google AdMob. If that happens we will update this policy before the release, describe exactly what data those features use, ask for your consent where the law requires it (for example ad personalisation in the EEA and UK), and give you controls to opt out.

9. Security

Data is kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. The release app is signed and obfuscated to protect it against tampering.

10. Your rights

Because all data is on your device, you can view, correct, export and delete it yourself at any time. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or Vietnam's Decree 13/2023/ND-CP) you have rights over your personal data; contact us and we will help.

11. Changes

We will post any change on this page and update the date above. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
